Festival of the Trees (call for submissions)

I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting the 49th Festival of the Trees.

I am now taking submissions for the July festival. Please check here for submission guidelines, the history behind the festival, and July's theme. There is a contact form on the main site, or you can email me your link. I know there is a lot of talent out there, and I look forward to your entries, whether it be poem, flash fiction, photo, painting, haiku, etc. All mediums are welcome. Don't leave me standing alone like the last elm in North America.

The current festival is being hosted by Casey Harn so make sure you check that one out while you're at it.

Lets turn our attention away from war and oil spills and the destruction wrought by man and have some tree love.

Ahhh, trees . . . big, small, scraggly and knarled, or majestic and stalwart, they do their part in keeping the lid on a steaming planet.

I'll see you in the woods, twenty rods beyond the brush pile in a clearing by the creek, short of the bee hives. Don't disturb the bees, just send me your stuff!

I'm in. You know I love trees. Could you explain how it works? Do we post on our sites and you link? Or do we send you things to post? Are you doing it all month of July or specific days?

I have to look at this when I have time. I LOVER the tree nymphs picture.

"Tree love" -- reminds me of that scene in The Piano when Ana Paquin was learning from the Maori how to literally make love to the trees. That's probably taking it farther than you meant...

HOORAY for the Festival of the Trees!

PS - Tricia - to participate, you just follow these simple steps:

1) Blog about trees (or publish your entry at your website, YouTube site, Flickr gallery, etc.)

2) Send us the link (you can send it to Yvonne via email, or use our contact form )

3) Spread the word

4) Enjoy the Festival on the first day of every month

You can post your entry any time throughout the month of June, but you'll need to send the link to Yvonne by June 28th.

Just contact us again with any questions, and HAVE FUN!

I think Jade answered your questions. The July festival will be live on July 1st. I'll put together all the links of participants in one post. I can't wait to see what you have! Don't forget to check on the main site for my theme.

Hi! I hope you can send us something. I'm counting on it!

Ha! A little further than what I meant, but I think I'm guilty of writing a poem about something like that once.

So far I'm good right?? Now I just have to drum up some interest.

Thanks for spreading the word. I love trees, but don't know what to write about them.

I'll have to think this through.

This sounds like a wonderful idea! I don't know if I can come up with something that's quite right for it, though. Hmmm. I'll have to think on it.

Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what other people do. It's a perfect way to celebrate summer!

Yea! Please do enter. It's easy and the folks at the main site are awesome! I can't wait to see what you submit.

Just drop us a line about your all-time fav tree and why. Or a photo, or a haiku....anything you want. I want you in my festival!

Yes! It is an ancient love and I'm so glad you're going to participate. Thank you!!!

Mary Anne,
I know you have a favorite tree! And I'm looking forward to seeing what "you" do!

Hi Yvonne: For some reason I didn't get that I'm supposed to post my entry before June 28. I'm sure glad I figured it out in time! So anyway, today I posted a teaser and gave you an award, but I am going to put the real post up later this week.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'll try to answer your question for this coming Monday's Post!

You aren't alone. There seems to be a lot of confusion out there. I hope I can get it all together. And thanks for the award. I loved your teaser and can't wait to see the real thing!

Hi! Thanks for joining my blog and thanks for taking my "medical" question on yours. I look forward to your response. My character's mental state rests in your hands!

This sounds like a great festival! I'm so in (and glad I found your blog). It will be a great way to honor the trees that are burning all around my town right now. So sad...

Hello and thank you so much. I'll look for your entry. Are you in the midst of those fires I've heard about? I'll have to check out your blog. That is sad and heartbreaking. Thanks for joining up here!!
