THE BOY FROM YUGOSLAVIA (Flash 55)

While the teacher was at the beer garden they beat up the new boy with the funny name and she hid behind the country school and covered her ears until they were finished. He ran past her bloodied and in his place, face etched with the horror, and she thought, maybe now they’ll believe us.

If you can write a story in 55 words, post it on your site and then visit the G-Man to let him know. You'll get marvelous feedback from his many participants and even a visit from the man himself.

Have a marvelous weekend, writers and compatriots.

Wellll...if they have not believed us before, they probably will not now...it's called "Contempt prior to investigation", a Herbert Spenser phrase.

Nice 55, Peep! Scooter is a Suzuki Bergman 650. Leave Monday, and ride, stop and go when I feel like it, as far as I wish, and come back home when i get tired of the nomadic life. Last year it was 18 days.

Mainly greet bloggers (who I know, but never met!) and "do" AA meetings up the east coast, starting in Miami FL. Sorry, but I just wanted you to understand, since you commented. Thanks!

PEACE!

Steve,
Thanks for commenting. And what a great quote. I should've had that as a tagline. The scooter sounds sweet. I'd love to be able to do that...just go, stop when you want, come home....when you want. Have fun and don't make your guardian angel have a heart attack.

Amy,
Thanks! Maybe, but probably not....

Mona,
Thanks for commenting. Horrible the things kids to other kids, and this only scratches the surface.

Brian,
Thanks for coming by. Yeah, this particular teacher was a real slug even with the hands untied.

Austin,
Thanks for the perspective from one who's "been there". I'll check yours out later this morning. (On my way out the door to pick lettuce before it gets too hot!)

Claudia,
Thank you so much. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Okay, color me weirder and more curious than usual -- but why was the teacher at the beer garden??

Hey, don't get me wrong -- some of my best life moments have been in beer gardens, so that line piqued me very very much!!

Yvonne, I LOVE your blogging -- you organic writer you!!

Isn't the Beer garden where teachers learn to teach?

John,
Yes, the next generation of haters.

Scots,
Thank you very much!

Cheryl,
Thanks for commenting. I love comments!

G-Man,
You know I can never stay away for long. Thanks for making it possible to play this word game. Telling anything in 55 words is not easy and I think the exercise strengthens one's writing skills. So thanks agaain.

Thank you so much. I'm a little slow making the rounds this week. Wow...is it Tuesday already? Thanks again.

Annie,
Hi. Yes, I guess it is but that's the truth of what used to go on in these one room schoolhouses.

Sarah,
Thanks again for all your visits here. You make my day every time.
