the right to work all night and all day
to bring home a meager bit of pay.
The right to work twelve days straight
for what you use to earn in eight.
The jackals smell a Republican
behind the guv’nors gate—
the right-to-exploit will sure taste great.
It’s a sad day in Michigan when the Republican
legilature pushes through a right-to-work law in a lame duck
session without any public debate. Right-to-work states have lower
wages, fewer benefits, more workplace injuries, a poorer quality
of life and lower standard of living. But they’re doing it
for us. Merry Christmas.
If you have a story to share in 55 words post it today and let the G-Man know. He will visit you as will scores of others. TGIF

Rick Snyder is kind of a Dick isn't he?
You have NO IDEA how glad I am to see you playing today.
You always add such GREAT commentary,
Loved your scathing 55
Thanks for playing, You Rock Baby!
Have Kick Ass Week-End
Excellent 55!
G-Man,
Of course he's a Dick. He's buds with the biggest Dick of all-Dick DeVos. Thanks G-Man. Why don't you run for govenor??
Mama Zen,
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
haha yeah they are doing it for us...and their pocket books...ugh...i just come to expect them sticking it to us
Typical Republican thing.
I agree, a sad day for Michigan… Great words… Well said.
Money = Power...Money is the new God.
It's all so many people worship these days and, the more they have, the more they want. And sadly, it's we little people who are so expendable that make it for them, not from choice but from necessity.
Great, truthful 55.
Ebeneezer Scrooge is alive and well. Thanks for pointing out so eloquently that we are regressing back to the 18th century.
between you and me...
Flash 55 - Wanted: Dead or Alive?
People don't realize that without unions, all of the rights and privileges our workforce (unionized and otherwise) enjoys would not be. Your explanation of this was quite clever.
That is sad, its not allowed here in our province ~
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend ~
It seems extra ugly given the title which is designed to hide the truth. Well said though.
A 55 that packs quite the punch!! You go girl!!!
Sorry to hear that Yvonne. Wisconsin has been having issues with our very republican governor too. I'm not sure why $$$=free speech and corporations =people.
Yikes! That is not good news for anyone!
Brian,
Yeah, sticking it to us, just before the holidays.
Alice,
Isn't it though?
Anthony,
Thanks. It makes me really depressed, at a time when hearts are supposed to be uplifted. At least it's nice to know I'm not alone with these feelings.
Daydreamer,
They never have enough, and I guess that's kind of depressing too. Thank you.
Nessa,
Thanks!
Well done.
I'm in MI too.
Snyner might not be as bad as Walker, Scott and Kasich, but he is plenty bad.
The Rethug goal is to bring about the new feudalism. heir entire play book comes from ALEC.
Sadly,

Avoidtheclap,
Exactly right. Unions drive wages and benefits up for everyone, along with productivity. It makes me very angry that they did this in the lame duck session because they wouldn't have the votes in Jan. when the new congress comes in. At least that's what I've heard and believe to be true. Thank you.
Heaven,
I take you're in Canada? How interesting that such nonsense is not allowed there. I bet they don't dish out tax abatements to companies either. Thank you so much.
Grandma,
Very ugly. Thank you for commenting!
Helen,
Hey, thanks. I appreciate it!
Mary,
Wisconsin seemed like such a mess and we sat here across the lake and thought that shit could never happen here.
Jemi,
Thank you. Lucky Canadian.
Jazz,
Thank you! I'm happy to meet a fellow Michigander. I think the prevailing view of Snyder at present is utter disgust. He has turned out to be such a liar. I wish I could send him a box of coal. Yes they are a gang of thugs. But what/who is Alec??
Never heard about this before. How does right-to-work work?
Misha,
The RTW laws make if difficult for unions to survive because they won't have the funds (members no longer have to pay dues) to operate. No money...no clout. Contracters who work on taxpayer funded public projects will no longer have to use union workers and pay a prevailing wage. Said wages then drop along with benefits as corp. profits skyrocket.
