IF OUR BOOKSHELVES COULD TALK

Poets and Storytellers suggests we take inspiration today from our bookshelves. I've expanded that to include not only my own bookshelf (and a stack of 'recently read') but others who have inspired me in the past. There's no place I'd rather be than in a crowded bookstore.  And what would a good book be without a good bookmark?

Inscribe Books

The bookmarks the publisher just sent me and my wobbly, overcrowded shelf.

Today I found inspiration in another writer's words. To quote a fellow author with Unsolicited Press: "Reading is the best way to build empathy and undersanding, but only 27% of Americans read between one and four books last year. Reading enhances brain activity, memory and cognitive function. It can also lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. But perhaps even more importantly, it gives you the tools you need to be less of an asshole."

I think we can all use a bit of that.
