HOT FOR PINK (friday flash 55)
The bees have diarrhea,
the honey pot's kaput.
Masses grow in lab rats
lodged in mammary.
Studies are debunked and mocked,
patents are enforced.
There's Roundup in your doughnut
and in your white corn syrup.
But we crave our fast food feedlots,
so GMO it all,
then wear pink for consolation
and embrace Monsanto's thrall.
It's Friday and time for the Flash Fiction 55 game. It's Halloween so give us your scary stuff. I didn't entirely play by the rules, G-Man, but it's a story (if not fiction), and 55 words on the nose!
If you can write a story in 55 words, please tell the G-Man and play along. Happy Halloween.

Very apt and chilling 55 Yvonne-- a real horror story we all are living. Been going nuts trying to find some flea control for my dogs that doesn't contain horrific warning labels and serious side effects that make you think fleas are a better option. Better living through chemistry--NOT.
Hedgewitch,
Thanks. Yes, fleas might be a better option.
ugh...pretty sickening isnt it...what we are doing to ourselves...and to our world...and you wonder why, but...ugh...scary world we are creating indeed...
Brian,
Hi! Sickening indeed and I'm sick of pink, especially the pink on football players. Really. It may be a well-meant gesture, but it is basically an empty one and misleads the public. Thanks for commenting. I'm a little slow today but will make it around to visit all before the weekend is out.
I guess I had no Idea how much Monsanto is really hated. You'd think they created Soylent Green!!
Loved your cancerous 55 Yvonne
(I love it when Harvest is over, we see a little more of your beautiful smiling face..:-)
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End.
(BTW...Omer is between Standish and Au Gres. It's touted as Michigan's Smallest City)
Tis a strange world we live in...and much scarier than Halloween!
G-Man,
What they've created, we do not know.
I'm very glad that harvest is over. I'm sick of picking brussels sprouts in the rain. Now I get to see more of your handsome face.
I'm gonna check out Omer in the off season. Can it be smaller than Burnside??
Hope,
Hi! Thank you so much. Halloween isn't scary at all. Well...just in a fun kind of way.
Great poem, wonderful message… Real scary stuff…
The is one scary corporation. The things they do in third world countries is enough to give me the chills.
*sigh* you got everything spot on, Yvonne! Very meaningful 55! Mine is here
Have you a TRULY BLESSED WEEKEND!!!
hugs
shakira
Anthony,
Thank you. Like your new pic, btw.
Alice,
Thank you. Yes, Third World, South American farmers in particular. Horrendous, shameful, monsterous...I can't find adequate words to describe what they've been allowed to do.
Bee diarrhoea! Now there's an image. Love it, Yvonne.
Shakira,
Thank you.
Talli,
I know....who would've thought that such a thing could happen?Thanks.
Oh, ouch. You are right on! Yeow.
We live in a fake world now, in so many ways. We fix one disease and create a hundred more from the side effects of the drugs to fix the original. Makes you wonder where we're headed, doesn't it.
Great 55, such a lot said in those few words.
Liza,
Thank you very much.
Daydreamer,
Exactly. Thank you so much.
'fast food feedlots' had me laughing out loud! I love the way your brain works, Yvonne! :)
Jemi,
That's what they are. Sometimes I just can't stand myself:) We line up at the McDonald's drive-through like cattle for slaughter.
