No More Hurting People

Martin Richard was with his family at the Boston Marathon to watch his father cross the finish line. Martin was killed in the blast and his mother and sister were grievously wounded. For them and for all who were killed and injured, we must run faster, stronger, harder and more beautifully.

Peace, Martin. You are beautiful.

I pray for his mother's and sister's speedy recovery.

The poor father. Running a marathon is exhausting. I can't imagine how it must feel to be ready to collapse only to find out your son is dead and your wife and daughter are badly injured. He should have been celebrating that he finished the marathon.

A thoughtful post about a dreadful, senseless crime.

Poor little boy. Beyond heartbreaking.

Stina,
Yes, the dedication and stamina it takes to do one of these is huge and the exhiliartion to cross the finish line must be so intense... only to have this happen. It's very sad. Thanks.

Mary,
Thank you so much. That boy is like an angel.

Talli,
Thank you. I just had to do something, something small.

Frances,
Thanks so much.

Wendy,
After your example, I had to post something.

This picture hurt so much seeing it on TV, but here, with your lovely words, it reaches out like a hug for humanity. Thank you, Yvonne

Thank you, Lydia. A free people can never be safe from the lunatic fringe. I hope this doesn't have an effect on other marathons this spring.

Thank you for posting this, Yvonne. Our hearts here are filled with anguish, and yet we see and feel the care and blessings of the rest of the country. I cannot begin to express how supportive it is. We can't let them stop us. We can't. We must prove that everything that is good will triumph. Always.

Liza,
Yes, you should know that the entire country is with you and most of the world. If anything, this makes us more determined to continue our traditions and to support our democratic institutions and to choose freedom over security. Always.
Thanks.
