The Rental (Fri.Flash 55 )

They took the house before they saw
the stones hanging from the trees,
the fire pit and the stick formations
and the window that wouldn’t open
and the one that wouldn’t shut
and the frogs that came in
and the path in the woods that led on
and on.
And the woods.
And the woods.

Just a little story for the G-Man. TGIF!

I loved this Yvonne! Nothing like those little unexpected surprises when you first move into a new place...and why are they never the pleasant variety? :)

the repetition in the end makes it a little more haunting...gotta love showing up to all that...and you will never hear from the agent again...lol

I love this, Yvonne. Reminds me of a few places I've lived. Love the spook factor as well. Those woods just scream demon.

This is definitely spooky. And the stones hanging from the trees is a puzzle to me, which adds to the spook factor. Thanks for you comments on my poem, I had only heard of Rodriguez from the prompt at Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, but I will watch the the movie you mentioned. If you want to check out the prompt there is a link on my blog. Have a great weekend Yvonne. :o)

Unpleasant surprises, and yet there is beauty in the telling!
I'm visiting from the Undead in the Netherworld blog.

Well told indeed. Sounds as if someone is going to meet up with a Wendigo.

I think they are in for a very unsettling time.
