The Mysterious Disappearance of the Matriarch - Flash 55

She drifted off to sleep, wondering—
would the pictures on the stairs again be rearranged in the night?
The first time it was her great-grandmother’s portrait
moved from top to bottom.
Each night another was moved.
The last morning, the wall was empty.
Her ancestors were piled against the wall at the bottom of the stairs.

Try your hand at a story in 55. Then let the G-Man know.

Geez, what with just reading Fireblossom's poem about the wax dummy, broken neck down the stairs -- and now this, I'd be a bit creeped out if it were night! :)

Luckily the sun is shining and it's hours and hours and hours before I have to sleep. :)

Ooo, and intriguing little bit of a tale. It's a mystery.

Follow up post with the reason the portraits all ended up at the bottom?

Oh this is an excellent premise to a long story of those matriarchs and those houses being emptied, and those children all fighting for space, freedom, opportunities and selfishness.

...as if the ghosts were housed in frames and arguing their heiarchy. In the end....an unhung jury :)

Kavita,
Welcome to my blog! Where did you come from?? Thanks for reading and catching the sad undertones. I can't seem to help it....there're always there.

And to Rosaria and Annie, yes, the hierarchy of the frames fighting for space. An unhung jury? Pretty funny Annie! Thanks.
