The
vase of daffodils
sunshine
in a jar
lasted
a week on the countertop.
The red
tulips matched her dress
and his
bow tie.
Easter
finery and greening grass
matted
and soft underfoot
await the resurrection.
The
cemetery
awaits
a footing and a stone.
Why not
believe as Camus did in French verse—
that
two can become reunited as one.
Inspired to breathe by the Tuesday Platform, and in need of music and garden toads,
I ask, why not?

sunshine in a jar - a beautiful image!
Easter time is a time of cheerfulness and expectations, your colorful verse and imagery brings this out well. But,...the flowers were dead and wilted, and the Camus introduction with his dismal outlook on hope puts things quickly on hold, we aren't told if dashed.
Camus's outlook right away reminds me of Solomon's "Vanity, vanity, all is vanity (or 'in vane')." I marvel at his 16-year romance with Casares, all sustained by mail. All in vain, he died in a car accident just before they were reunited.
..
Like the imagery and it’s irony. Good start for a cold morning. Thanks
Tony,
Thanks! Awful cold for sure.
Jim,
Thank you for commenting and the note on that 16-year romance.
Thot,
Thank you. Could use some of that this morning!
Little miracles happen all the time, so why not hope for a reunion between two souls who bloomed brightly together?
Rommy,
well said! thank you.....boy am I late responding to your comment. Neglecting my blog again.
